- Vercel CLI can put a project online with `vercel deploy --temporary`, no account needed.
- The address lasts one hour unless you claim it with the link in the output.
The short version: Vercel now lets you put a project online without creating an account. According to Vercel’s announcement, it is meant for quickly sharing prototypes at a live address.
What changed
vercel deploy --temporaryputs the current project online.vercel deploy --temporary prototype.htmlputs a single file online.- The output gives you an address to share and a link to claim the deployment.
- Temporary deployments use the
tmp.nowdomain, notvercel.app. - The deployment expires after one hour unless you claim it.
How it works for you
You run the command in a project folder that is not yet linked to Vercel. When needed, Vercel CLI builds the project on your own computer. To keep the site longer, open the claim link from the output and sign in or create an account. Vercel asks you to keep that link private.
How to read this
This is the vendor describing its own feature, not an independent test. The post gives no other limits, such as project size or number of deployments, so check the documentation before serious use. If you are building your first site with AI, I write more in the hub on the first AI site.
