- Vercel now offers Kimi K3.1 Pro from Moonshot AI, plus a faster Highspeed version.
- The context window is 1M tokens and the model accepts images.
- The post lists no prices; Moonshot plans to release the weights by November 4.
The short version: Vercel added a new model, Kimi K3.1 Pro from Moonshot AI, to its AI gateway, along with a faster Highspeed version. According to Vercel it is the first model in the K3.1 series and builds on Kimi K3.
What changed
- Two models are available:
moonshotai/kimi-k3.1-proandmoonshotai/kimi-k3.1-pro-highspeed(the second is described as faster for interactive use). - The context window is 1M tokens, and the model accepts text and images.
- Vercel describes improvements over Kimi K3 in coding, 3D modeling, financial analysis and agent tasks.
- Moonshot AI plans to release the model weights by November 4.
How to try it
You pick the model through the AI SDK, Chat Completions, Responses or Anthropic Messages. According to the post, the command npx vercel@latest ai-gateway setup prepares a key and configuration for agents such as Claude Code or Codex, then you choose the model with /model. Vercel says the gateway passes provider prices through with no markup and charges no platform fee on requests.
How to read this
The post gives no prices or test results, and ‘fewer errors’ is a vendor claim, not an independent measurement. Before you switch, try the model on a few tasks of your own. I write more about models in this class in the hub on frontier models.
